Meaning Of Environment

Environment is that physical and biological world in which we live. Thus the environment consists of all those factors that affect the existence of an organism. The environment consists of two types of factors. These are:

  1. Biotic factors and
  2. Abiotic factors (or physical factors)

The biotic factors consist of all living things such as animals, plants and microorganisms. While, the abiotic factors consists of non-living things such as air, land, water, temperature, humidity, rainfall etc.

All the constituents of environment are dependent on one another. Thus, they interact with each other and maintain a balance in nature.
